Program Note
Work Study Group (2019), for variable ensemble, was composed for the Ball State University Electroacoustic Ensemble. The piece takes inspiration from Louis Andriesen's Workers Union in term of aleatoric approach and the name of the piece - the piece was composed for an ensemble primarily made up of college students... work study... its funny! Work Study Group is part of the composer's ongoing experiments in aleatory and limiting compositional materials.
