Program Note
Mantis (2015), for solo marimba, draws inspiration from the praying mantis insect. The piece was composed as part of the composer’s ongoing research in computer-assisted algorithmic composition and composing with MIR feedback. Mantis was composed with the aid of Common Music/Grace and Max.
