Program Note
Cicadoidea Perspective (2013), for clarinet and stereo electroacoustic music, was commissioned by clarinetist Yi-Wen Chen. The work consists of four relatively short movements: “The Gorytini”, “Nymphdom”, “Instar Trek”, and “Tymbals and Dangers.” Each movement is a representation of a primary aspect of the life of a cicada.
